7-day Dinner Planner
- Meatless Monday: Winter Squash Stuffed with Lentil Pilaf. Vegetarian recipes like this one will help you stick to eating healthier and spending less. If you wish, add some browned ground turkey, pork or lamb. Save remaining pilaf for later.
- Tuesday: Chicken Piccata. Dredge chicken tenders in flour and sauté in olive oil. Add white wine or chicken stock, capers and lemon juice. Heat to thicken slightly and serve over whole wheat pasta. Be sure to cook extra pasta for later.
- Wednesday: Pizza Night. Our 365 Everyday Value® frozen pizzas are always a deal, but even more so right now when you can pick up "The Whole Deal" in store and clip the pizza coupon! Take leftovers for lunch.
- Thursday: Shrimp "Scamp-pea" Heat a few frozen cooked shrimp and frozen peas in melted butter, garlic and parsley flakes. Toss with warmed leftover pasta.
- Friday: I'm Not Cooking Tonight! Ladle yourself a small tub of soup from our deli, and then stir in the leftover pilaf at home. Grab a whole grain roll, or microwave popcorn if it's movie night, and you're set.
- Saturday: Dinner Out, or Potluck with Friends. If you don't go out, you can all save! Make and take along one of our budget recipes.
- Sunday: Mini Frittata. This is a great way to use up bits of meat, seafood, cheese and veggies. Use one of our frittata recipes and substitute your available leftovers, using just 2 or 3 eggs and a small skillet.
3 money-saving quick tips
- Buy only what you need. At the meat, seafood and cheese counters, ask for only the amount you need. We're happy to cut to order.
- IQF is your budget friend! Choosing Individually Quick Frozen shrimp or chicken pieces lets you buy in value-size packaging and thaw only what you need.
- Scoop your own dried herbs & spices. Look for our bulk jars and buy only what the recipe calls for. Most are less than 15¢ per teaspoon.
Weeknight Dinners and a Special Saturday
- Meatless Monday: Red Beans & Rice. Heat a can of 365 Everyday Value® Kidney Beans, add Cajun seasoning, and serve over rice. Add chicken sausage if desired.
- Tuesday: Pork & Sweet Potato Skillet Meal. Brown salt-and-peppered cubes cut from 2 boneless pork chops with chopped onion in canola oil. Stir in 1 cup wine or water, then cubed sweet potato and 1/2 tsp dried thyme. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender.
- Wednesday: Shrimp, Avocado & Feta Chalupas. Remove tails and gently heat a few frozen cooked shrimp in salsa. Crisp flour tortillas in a little oil then top with your warm shrimp salsa, avocado slices, crunchy cabbage or lettuce and crumbled feta cheese.
- Thursday: No Cook Night. Stop by our deli and choose from lasagna, stirfry, entree salads, etc. You get exactly what and how much you want, no tipping required.
- Friday: Dinner Out or Friends Over. If you go out, enjoy it! If you feel like cooking—and saving—choose one of our budget recipes and ask your friends to bring an appetizer or salad.
- Special Saturday: Winter Picnic. For a romantic Valentine's Day or just a fun change of pace, spread a blanket in front of a fire or a movie and enjoy shrimp cocktail, roasted veggies from our deli mashed with olive oil on crostini and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
3 money-saving quick tips
- Double the recipe and freeze the second half for another night's meal.
- Think "inside" the box. Check what you've already got in your pantry before you shop and search for recipes to use it up.
- Get the most flavor for your buck by using small amounts of high-quality, strong-flavored ingredients, such as feta cheese, sausage, citrus and herbs.
Weeknight Dinners and Game Day
- Meatless Monday: Farfalle with Winter Pesto. This sneaky new recipe "hides" healthy greens in a family favorite. If you miss the meat, also serve bean soup with a little ham.
- Tuesday: Chicken Broccoli Stirfry. Eating long noodles on Chinese New Year (January 26th) is believed by some to bring long life, but you don't need a special occasion to enjoy this recipe.
- Wednesday: Cook's Night Off. Take a break on hump day and let everyone choose their favorite dishes from our deli. It's better quality than a restaurant at the same or less cost.
- Thursday: Sausage & Beans Bake. Combine 2 cans 365 Everyday Value® Baked Beans with a squeeze of mustard and ketchup, and a package of pre-cooked chicken sausage cut into bite-sized chunks. Bake, and serve with cole slaw.
- Friday: Fish "Fry"! Heat and serve our new 365 Everyday Value® Lightly Breaded Hoki fish (pick up "The Whole Deal" in store for a coupon). Oven fries and a side of green peas from the freezer couldn't be easier.
- Weekend:
Game Day Buffet. Create a build-your-own burrito bar with all the fixin's. Save by stirring beans into the ground meat or adding sautéed peppers and onions to the chicken, and by choosing 365 Everyday Value® cheese shreds and jarred salsa.
